EFT - Emotional Freedom Techniques

Feel calmer, release stuck emotions, and reclaim your energy

EFT, or Emotional Freedom Techniques (often called “tapping”), helps you safely release emotions that get stuck in your body and nervous system. Many people come to me feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or trapped in old patterns — and EFT provides a gentle, powerful way to let go, so you can feel calmer, more grounded, and freer to move forward.

Sessions are paced to your needs. You remain in control at all times, and no prior experience is required. Even if you’ve tried other approaches and they didn’t work, EFT can offer a new way to access and release stress, anxiety, or past trauma.

What happens in a session

  • We start by identifying what’s bothering you in the moment, whether it’s a feeling, thought, or bodily sensation.

  • Using gentle tapping on specific acupressure points while focusing on the issue, your nervous system is guided toward release.

  • We check in frequently, adjusting the pace to match your comfort and sense of safety.

  • Many clients notice a reduction in anxiety, clearer thinking, and a calmer body, sometimes within a single session.

Sessions are collaborative and flexible — everything is done with your nervous system and boundaries in mind.

How EFT helps

EFT can support you with a wide range of emotional challenges,

including:

  • Anxiety, panic, and stress

  • Trauma and emotional overwhelm

  • Repeating patterns or behaviours you want to change

  • Self-criticism, low confidence, and people-pleasing tendencies

  • Emotional blocks affecting relationships or work

Because EFT works directly with the body and nervous system, it can help you release stuck energy that talk therapy alone may not reach. It’s especially effective for people who feel highly sensitive or deeply affected by past experiences.

Why EFT works

EFT combines principles from psychology, acupressure, and somatic therapy. Research shows that it can:

  • Reduce cortisol and stress in the body

  • Calm the nervous system

  • Create measurable shifts in emotional processing

  • Complement other therapeutic approaches for deeper, lasting change

Historically rooted in acupressure and developed using cognitive and somatic methods, EFT allows both mind and body to participate in healing, rather than relying solely on thinking or talking.
